Art that expects something from you
An invitation to think about yourself requires works that don’t just want to please.
Some ask a question, others demand a reaction, others deliberately remain uncomfortable.
You can please.
They can be irritating.
You are allowed to raise questions, even those that remain unanswered.
A rocket with a fear of heights
David Moises’ kinetic sculpture “Vertigo”, for example, a converted boiler that was announced as a rocket launch at the opening of the festival in 2011, but ended up with a small hop and a loud flatulence noise, now stands as a reminder of all the wonderfully failed ambitions in the herb garden, right next to the tomatoes that don’t have to worry about fear of heights.
Black Forest - Blue
We invited Christian Schwarzwald to redesign the entrance area of Herbert-von-Karajan Platz.
We wanted a blue world that sucks you into the house and a friendly chaos in which order can still be found.
If you look closely, you will also find goose feathers and a goose head.
Welcome to our blue world!
"...was a great artist!"
“Oh my Papa” is not only the beginning of a German hit about an artist’s life, but also a reference to the passing on of values (such as real estate) within the family unit.
We leave it open whether this is a sigh or an expression of extreme admiration.
In any case, it bathes our courtyard in a delicate pink light.
