The soul of things.
The silent sailor is not a man of many words. “Wood is good.”, he says and explains to us that it is “As an organic substance, it uses few resources due to its purity – both in production and during recycling or disposal.”
Franz likes something like that. He is looking all over Europe for the beautiful things that are made in the last manufactories of their kind and that fulfill the
what we imagine as sustainable and aesthetic. “We are busy digging up old production techniques and redefining them with new shapes and colors” says Franz Eisl, managing director and product developer of beautiful things.

The love that goes into making them can not only be seen in the products, but also felt. They are products whose soul can be felt through craftsmanship – or is it the soul of their creator himself? Eisl’s product philosophy is comprehensive, his favorite product is universal: “Bowls. You can reach into them, eat out of them, that’s family.” This is the good life.
And that’s good design, just like we use on plates and glasses. Other companies that we value and that make up our design are: Moroso, Fredericia, B&B Italia, Wittmann and others. But off-the-shelf design is the exception; most of it, tables, chairs, beds, lamps, is handmade and was made here on site.
