Adapter

We will be happy to lend you adapters free of charge during your stay. Should you need one for your onward journey, you can purchase it for €10.

Air conditioning

Select your preferred temperature using the up and down arrows on your remote control or on the control panel next to the main door.

Art

More than 120 original pieces by contemporary artists make for understated companions throughout our hotel. Further information is available on the iPads in the corridors or at reception.

Bath goose

Take like a duck to water in your bathtub with our very own little blue rubber goose (as befitting the name of our hotel!). Our goose will also be pleased to keep you company at home or serve as a gift for your friends.

Bicycles

Green lifestyle ‒ Our city bikes are available for trips in and around Salzburg.  The rental service is included in the room price.

Brasserie Bar

Open daily except for Sunday, from 12 noon to 12 midnight. Hot food is served throughout the day!

Breakfast

Breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the restaurant, on Sundays until 10.30 a.m.  Price €25.

Busses

Salzburg boasts an efficient public transport network. Directly in front of our hotel, there are bus stops for several routes (above all 1 and 10).

The nearest cash dispensers are located at Anton-Neumayr-Platz, next to the ice cream parlour Rialto, or at Bank Austria at the end of Getreidegasse – building no. 1.

When it comes to booking tickets or attending to any other requests, large or small, you will be in safe hands with our friendly team at reception. Be it transfers, tickets, lost suitcases, tips on restaurants … you’ve come to the right place.

Conservatory

No stones, please! This is an extraordinary, inspiring venue for meetings and workshops for a maximum of eight people, boasting excellent light and an open, airy space. Located on the first floor, next to the herb garden.

Direct booking

When booking your stay via our website blauegans.at, you will benefit from price reductions, free admission to the Museum of Modern Art and personalised assistance. Here – meaning only via our website ‒ you’ll also be able to take advantage of an early-bird discount if you already know when you want to visit us again.

Doctor

There is a medical practice in the old town just around the corner, and lots of medical specialists in the area. Three hospitals are in the immediate vicinity: the “Barmherzige Brüder” Hospital and the emergency hospital are both located in the old town. The “Landeskrankenanstalten” are a bit farther away in the “Mülln” district (urban railway station Altstadt-Mülln).

Garden

A Blaue Gans open-air experience, to be enjoyed be-tween a stroll through the old town and a visit to the Salzburg Festival. Our pavement café is an urban oasis where you can soak up a Mediterranean ambience. Moreover, it boasts a spectacular view of the Mönchsberg, the Pferdeschwemme (ancient horse well) and the Festspielhaus (Festival Hall). Weather permitting, open from 12 noon to 11 p.m., Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (except during the Salzburg Festival).

Green lifestyle: In our hotel courtyard, we grow 20 different varieties of herbs in stylishly-lit raised beds.

The restaurant serves hot food throughout the day from 12 noon to 10 p.m., Monday through to Saturday.  Of course, you can also enjoy your meals in your room. We’ll bring you up a menu: simply choose your items and dial 54 to place an order at the restaurant. Open from 12 noon to 10 p.m., closed on Sundays (except during the Salzburg Festival).

Ice cubes

Simply dial 50 and we will deliver ice cubes to your room, or you can pick them up at the restaurant.

Jogging

You can start your jogging route directly at the hotel, either choosing the city hills or following the River Salzach. Alternatively, hire a running coach who will accompany you along the Blaue Gans route. This is a great way to get to know the modern art featured in various public spaces.

Laundry

Our chambermaids will be happy to take care of your laundry. You will find the appropriate laundry bag as well as a list in your cupboard. Just give us a call (telephone number 50) and we will pick it up at your room. Alternatively, simply hand it over at reception on your way out. This service is available for a fee.

Luggage

After checkout, you can leave your luggage in our luggage store at reception. In the unfortunate event that your luggage has not arrived with you in Salzburg, we will be pleased to help you out with our “magic box” at reception.

Toothpaste, toothbrushes, shaving foam and replacements for anything else you may have left at home are available at reception.

Massage

We partner with massage specialists who will gladly come to our hotel and treat you in your room upon request. Our friendly staff at reception will be happy to book your massage appointment (please do so the day before).

Non-smoking hotel

Rest assured that you will be staying in a smoke-free room. In our hotel, smoking is only allowed in the garden in the smoking lounge. If you do smoke in your room, we will charge you for an extra night to hold the room for freshening up.

Parking

We recommend parking your car in terminal A. Taking the Getreidegasse exit, you’ll be virtually on our doorstep. Please take a parking ticket upon entry and keep it safe. You’ll need it to leave the car park.

Benefit from a Blaue Gans special rate of €19,90 (instead of €24,20) for the 24-hour parking ticket in the Altstadtgarage (car park in the old town). The price for the ticket will be included in the hotel bill. For further information, do not hesitate to ask our team at reception.

If we park your car for you, we charge a service fee of €7 per trip.

Print service

Our team at reception will be glad to print your train and flight tickets or anything else. Please send your document via email to office@blauegans.at.

Reading room

Slow hotel, urban hideaway: Situated in the inner courtyard on the first floor, this peaceful retreat can be used to while away the time or read the papers after breakfast. We also have a collection of Salzburg literature as well as European literature, coffee-table books, art catalogues, lifestyle magazines … Free tea bar.

Reception

At your disposal 24 hours a day. During the night, one of our colleagues makes sure that you are safe with us, admitting only hotel guests.

Restaurant

Our vaulted restaurant is the centrepiece of the hotel. For many centuries, people have gathered within its 670-year-old walls to share ideas, to chat, to laugh and to celebrate.

Opening hours: Breakfast Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., Sundays 7 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.

Restaurant: open from 12 noon to 10 p.m., hot food throughout the day

Closed on Sundays (except during the Salzburg Festival).

Upon departure, please make sure that you leave your room key at reception.

The most important card for your visit to Salzburg ‒ your gateway to the city of Mozart – is available in a shop at Mozartplatz.

Salzburg takes pride in the excellent quality of its drinking water. Enjoy it straight from the tap.

Taxi

It’s best to order your taxi at reception. It will pick you up right outside our door on Getreidegasse. Please note that there may be considerable waiting times during rush hour or prior to or after events.

Wining, dining & socialising: Dine in family style in our wine archive. Sharing is caring!

Everything that we serve you comes from our food manufactory and arrives in many little bowls.

Tea bar

The tea bar located in the reading room offers a range of high-quality types of tea and a samovar. Please just help yourself.

Should you encounter the notorious weather phenomenon, the “Salzburg drizzle”, umbrellas are provided in your room as well as at reception. And if you find you don’t want to part with it, you can simply buy it for €19.

Buy vouchers at reception for those who stayed behind at home, or for yourself. Our vouchers are just waiting to be redeemed on food, accommodation, massages, delicacies from the food manufactory, etc.

Wake-up call

We will give you a ring to wake you up. Please inform the staff at reception at what time you wish to rise and shine.

Walk of Modern Art

The modern works of art placed in public spaces by the Salzburg Foundation (artists include Marina Abramovic, Anselm Kiefer, Markus Lüpertz, Mario Merz, James Turell and  Stefan Balkenhol, amongst others) greatly enrich the urban landscape. Book your walk around the city at reception.

Wi-Fi

Wine Archive

The former jazz cellar accommodates our hotel’s wine store. We are delighted to open it for convivial get-togethers for 20 to 50 people.
