in the wine warehouse
The restaurant’s wine supply is stored in our wine archive, a former jazz cellar with centuries-old vaults under the streets of Salzburg’s old town.
We are happy to open it in times of high demand or for happy groups of up to 60 people.
If you have an anniversary to celebrate, a birthday, want to pamper your employees or just want to socialize with others, just shout loudly
“LA TAVOLATA!”,
which means something like: “Let’s have an enjoyable time together at long tables!”

The historic stone vault from the 14th century, whose huge conglomerate blocks come from the historic quarry opposite in Mönchsberg, has an eventful history: it served as a storage facility for over 600 years.
Until gas was introduced, it was a coal cellar in the early years of the 20th century.
Vegetables, fruit and a wine barrel were stored there, and in the 1970s it was transformed into a legendary jazz institution with the “Mexicano Cellar”.
Today the wine stock of our Salzburg Old Town Restaurant is stored here.
Around 1,500 bottles visible behind a glass front in front of a conglomerate wall.
Together with the long tasting table for 12 people, the wine bar and the valuable STILLSEGLER table culture, the wine forms the backdrop for “La Tavolata – the whole table is a stage”.
The wine archive of our Arthotel offers space for up to 60 people and is a place for your very special birthday, your individual company event or conference, for anniversaries, (Christmas) celebrations and other occasions where you like to gather others around you.
